WTF......
I'm finally getting around to posting about my birthday gift from my daughter. I know she hasn't been knitting long, but is there some rule out there that knitters' should NOT have to finish their own birthday presents. 
She did a pretty good job, but I had to finish off the neck and sleeve edges. It's a lovely bamboo yarn from Berocco, and I love the colour. I think I need more red sweaters!
And I finished the top down version of my raglan baby sweater, and I even got down the rough draft.
Once I punch in a couple of more sizes and set in some pictures I'll post it in my side bar.And because I have no idea what the gender of the baby is, it's plain old vanilla and duck buttons.
My poor son was working all the way out in BC over Thanksgiving, and he missed out on his momma's turkey dinner. So we did it up on Wednesday had all the trimmings. The only problem is Mr. D is still away and I've had too eat a lot of leftovers by myself. (Well, Lady dog has helped a little).
So today, I did up a big pot of homemade turkey soup.

Alone again....
Well, Mr. D has left me once again for his annual hunting trip. 
As you can see somebody didn't want him to go. Lady dog is showing signs of separation anxiety.
And me, I'm enjoying the peace and quite today. My girls came out Friday for a visit and we thought we would try RoBo baby in the exersaucer. It fits like a glove. She's pretty strong for 4 months and wants to stand all the time. 
Miss "P" decided to spend the whole weekend, (I think she thought gramma might be a little lonely) but, she actually let me get some knitting done. So I finished up my socks and I started another baby cardigan. This time from the top down and I'll be putting the pattern down on paper soon.

Needles: 2.5mm
This is a great pattern to knit. Easy to memorize, and knit up quick. The only thing I did differently was use 4 needles instead of 5. That way your stitches worked out 22, 22, 22.
Today was also a day of hard decisions....while trying to straighten out my wall o' wool, I came to the conclusion that it will take forever to knit with everything I have in that room. Sooooooooo....I grit my teeth and weeded out some yarns and am listing them on ebay. (EGADS!!!!!)
I think I better go lie down now!

Happy Thanksgiving....
I am thankful for my wonderful family....and another gorgeous fall weekend.
And I finished my next baby sweater! I don't seem to find a lot of patterns out there for little boys so I knit this pattern of my own design.
I took some features I liked from another cardigan and actually changed quite a lot. I'll be writing out the pattern soon and tweaking a few things and I hope to add some extra sizes. This one is for a 3-6months size baby.... and I loved every minute of it, right down to the barrel buttons. It had minimal sewing and I'm thinking of redoing it from the top down to omit the sewing all together. It has basket weave at the bottom of the sweater, the hood and at the bottom of the sleeves. 
I used 3-- 50g balls of Sirdar Snuggly DK from my stash. I think this is perfect for the little boy it was made for and can be just as easily suited for a little girl.
And once again thank-you to Baillie Bear for stepping up to the plate to model.

I'm back..........
Well after messing up my computer once again, I'm up and running. Thanks to my Computer Guru (you're the best). Boy, did I learn a lot of new stuff. But I don't plan on being down again! So what have I been doing with all my down time?

I've been wanting to make this cardigan for awhile, and finally was knit for a friend at work.
Although there are somethings I didn't like about the pattern, there were lots I did. I plan on making this one for Miss "P", but I'll be doing a few subtle changes.
